Craven Badger Group was founded in 1993 with the help of North Yorkshire Police and the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority in response to a growing concern for the welfare of badgers in the Craven District Council area.
The aims of the group:
to encourage understandingof badgers
to promote and enhance the conservation and welfare of badgers
to record the distribution and status of badger setts within Craven District
to monitor badger setts on a regular basis
to protect badgers from disturbance and persecution
to assist statutory bodies in enforcement of the law
